Using the workbook in a small group experience, ten participants were introduced to the spiritual writings of Athanasisus, Augustine, Origen, Macarius, Tertullian, and Clement of Alexandria. It equipped the parents with the skills necessary to manage no-end grief.  No-end grief manifests in parents of handicapped children as unrelenting episodes of grief with no predictable conclusion.  During a six-week workshop, the instructor introduced a proactive grief management tool he calls Flash Grief. There is, however, confusion in the church today about the meaning of salvation.  One traditional approach to understanding salvation, substitutionary atonement, has been questioned by many contemporary theologians.  In this project an eight-week class on understanding salvation today will be designed and taught.  The project focuses on the work of five modern Reformed theologians: Gustav Aulen, John Stott, Karl Barth, Jürgen Moltmann, Friedrich Schleiermacher, and Paul Fiddes.  The approach to understanding salvation taken by each is described and consideration is given to the contribution each can make to a contemporary understanding of salvation.  Scripture passages and a background essay for each of the eight lessons are given. Small groups are proven tools for enhancing human relationships. This project uses the seminary's supervised ministry program and adapts the program for the local church for sr high and college students not yet sure of the call of God for pastoral leadership.  Nine students interns were hired for a ten-week summer internship program structured under the model of supervised ministry. Eight youth--five males, three females--and four adults participated in a five-day trip.  The spiritual well-being scale was given as a pre-test and four- and twelve-week post-test.  Each teen kept a journal.  Females grew more than males.  Teens without a parent involved grew more than those with a parent participating.  The Religious Well-Being means rose each testing.  The Existential Well-Being means rose at four weeks, then fell below pre-test mean at twelve weeks. Participants were measured, before and after the project, regarding knowledge of alcohol addiction and repositioning of attitudes toward persons addicted to alcohol. The instruments used were the Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis, the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Spiritual Gifts Inventory, Biblical Personal Profile, and the Spiritual Leadership Qualities Inventory.  Individualized plans for growth were developed based upon findings of the instruments.  The author found great benefit to be found in the communication that took place from the use of the instruments. It involved the enlistment of and ministry to persons who were struggling with distresses brought on by being forcefully terminated from their places of employment.  This was a specifically designed support group ministry.
