Lutheran congregations can benefit from an intentional catechetical course for adults. This project outlines development of a catechetical course in seven sessions for Lutheran adults, including study of baptism, prayer and confession, communion, healing, the church, discipleship, and caregiving.  Drawing on the history of the church, the course brings issues of faith into current perspective using the 'shared praxis' approach to teaching. The project designed a curriculum of eight training sessions and five strategy-development sessions.  The entire church heard a series of eight sermons on the life and mission of the church.  The project studied an experimental group and two control groups, using a pretest and posttest to measure cognitive changes in the groups.  Statistical analysis of the tests reported a change in Control Group A and a significant change in the experimental group. Since then Christians have debated just how he intended to have it built.  Although the debate has ranged widely, this project concentrates on where the church should meet, emphasizing the role of house churches today. Does the Bible mandate house churches as Christ's intended design for the church? This project examines theological, biblical, historical, and practical arguments for house churches as  the only right way to be the church, placing them in the contexts of doctrine and culture. Eight program activity units formed the core of the experience: group building, pre/post testing, journaling, sensory-intensifying experiences, group worship, quiet times alone, leader's teaching times, and participant teching/learning sessions. This project conducted inductive study of the Bible with 16 Native American students attending American Indian College in Spring 1995. They learn least and experience the poorest recall from expositional presentations and other literate styles.  Most literate Gospel presenters use expositional presentation formats when presenting the Gospel among oral communicators. This project employs four years of research and use of Chronological Bible Storying in cross-cultural settings by members of the Southern Baptist Foreign Mission Board.  The project developed and tested a training module during a workshop in England in 1994. Fifteen newly elected deacons participated in in-depth training to gain better understanding of spiritual gifts and their use in deacon ministry, attending eleven classes as a part of the project.  The entire diaconate participated in a small portion of the project. The project involved academic study and research at Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and Hardin-Simmons University. The new deacons fully participated in the Deacon Training Class and are using their spiritual gifts in ministry at Pioneer Drive. Generation to Generation by Edwin Friedman is an important family systems resource for the study.  Instruments produced by XICOM facilitated leadership assessment.  On their genograms the participants indicated family themes, emotions, traumas, triangles, and leadership characteristics over three generations.  The four instruments aided the participants to identify leadership resources in their genograms and family systems.
