The training course incorporated an inductive as well as a deductive teaching approach.  The writer created a pretest and posttest questionnaire to measure whether the training course influenced seminarians to place more value on narrative preaching as a necessary medium of persuasion and to increase their skill in narrative preaching. The third step of the methodology, which involved drafting a vision statement, was tested over a four-month period with the First Baptist Church of Media, PA. The process provided a personal fathering profile to reveal nurturing strengths/weaknesses, a workshop to address issues systemic to nurturing, and a father/son wilderness trip to practice nurturing skills. Using AA co-founder Bill Wilson as the paradigm, the author studied the phenomenon, termed 'metaconversion,' in twenty AA members, detailing characteristics occurring before and after the experience.  Biblical and historical personages were studied for evidences of the phenomenon.  An analysis is made of how the Twelve Steps of AA fosters metaconversion. Some leadership development principles are identified and applied in the ministry project. The project involved a short-term church leaders development group for lay leaders. This work is theological and community-developmental in scope.  It describes and critiques parish interaction with a target group of single parents in public housing.  Recurring use of four key research questions and survey data is central.  A rediscovery of parish identity in relation to poor people was catalysed and informed.  Adult Christian education was more focused to local community issues and linked intentionally with social analysis. Though the Holy Spirit is a basis for overcoming today's dualistic contradiction, the Christian understanding of the Holy Spirit is distorted. Mesters offers a dialectic of Bible and life as two revelatory books written by God.  The leader-training program emphasizes training, documentation and communication, art and poetry, and research.
