Upward feedback is a management strategy in which supervisors receive anonymous relational and behavioral counsel from those who report to them.  Four senior pastors in larger United Methodist churches participated in the project.  They redefined power as a capacity for an agreed-upon common course of action in unconstrained communications. Research in the Seventh-Day Adventist Church indicates that a sense of belonging is related to the age of the member.  While 90 percent of those above age 65 claimed a strong loyalty and attachment to the church, only 65 percent of those below age 45 expressed a sense of belonging. The Soul Friend Model calls each participant to a three-month commitment to be paired with another person who seeks to learn discipleship. The model hopes to move a person from a surface, casual commitment to a discipling relationship within the local church.  The project accomplished growth in specific areas of devotional life, Christian relationships, evangelism, and ministry through the local church. Intentional theological reflection should enable people to reflect on vocational call as people of God, to claim gifts for ministry in all parts of life, and to identify daily issues as ministry issues. Many churches appear to be unable to help Japanese Americans.  Understanding the origins of Christian faith is an approach that helps Japanese Americans interpret their history in the United States. Minjung theology and other influences have drawn many Koreans to the church.  As many as one fourth of the Korean population may now be considered to be Christian.  Yet difficult questions remain. Why, for example, does Korea have so many social problems, even among church members, when the growth and influence of the Christian faith is expanding so rapidly?  Why does a sense of 'Han' persist even among Korean Christians? Quantitative growth has often been emphasized at the expense of qualitative progress and pastoral care. During a ten-week period a program of preaching augmented by development and presentation of a missions curriculum culminates in a five-day missionary conference.  Missions education is accomplished through teaching in small groups and coeducational classes, field reports of missionaries, and expository preaching of missions texts.  Missions involvement of church members is measured by participation in meetings, acceptance of partnership in unit missions projects in Sunday School, entrance into a one-year prayer covenant with a missionary family, and commitment to weekly financial missions support.
