Although the strategy targets primarily members of the Challenge Center, it may also influence others in the surrounding community who have physical disabilities. The project defines the problem, reviews current biblical, theological, sociological, psychological, and popular literature, and administers a survey of the Challenge Center population. This research reveals that although disability can lead to greater faith, disabled persons report greater alienation from the church than is present among members of the general public. The survey, a 13-page, 57-question document, attempts to evaluate the effects of the trips on participants. It was returned by 77 participants for a response ratio of 68 percent.
