This project proposes an assimilation plan based on adult Sunday school classes reorganized into life stage communities. These communities will provide a network of care and ministry. Eleven classes were involved. Two of the classes were chosen to pilot the plan. Of the remaining nine classes, six embraced the plan in a limited manner and three resisted change. He concludes: a minister who enters a program of therapy training is responding to self crises and/or crises of meaning. The project sought to gain information by giving a force field analysis survey to ten Assembly of God churches.  From their response to the survey relevant curricula could be developed to prepare people for urban ministry.  The project demonstrated favorable results as the survey was given successfully. The theological section examines the background of Proverbs and compares it with other wisdom literature of the ancient world. Included is a segment on the unique literary genre of Proverbs. The structure of the book and the theology of wisdom is also analyzed in this chapter. The theoretical chapter investigates the hermeneutical principles particular to Proverbs. Determining paragraphs, using rhetorical analysis, and patterns in wisdom literature is thoroughly discussed. Filtering the selected text through six interpretive principles is key to this section. The chapter concludes by developing a framework for constructing expository sermons. The culmination of theological and theoretical sections is an actual course designed to teach expository preaching from Proverbs. It is intended as a college or seminary elective homiletics course. Included with the lesson plans are 10 sermons on Proverbs for the purpose of classroom instruction and personal study. The main parts of the funeral event such as the service, wake, the committal service, and the repast, are examined as powerful tools of evangelism. In addition, the importance of preaching, singing, and praying during the funeral event have been explored as additional spiritual tools for evangelism. The role of the pastor and laity are explored as care givers offering an open door of opportunity for being evangelists. Using seven control group and seven participant churches through two seminars and a consultation process designed to equip them to lead their consultation to sponsor new work. The project objectives included understanding the role of the sponsoring church, recognizing the phases of new church development, discovering nearby new work opportunities and developing an action plan for sponsorship. The process initiated by the study guide was critiqued and the data from the respondents were analysed through qualitative research methodology.  Shortcomings within the initial study guide were identified and a revised study guide is included in the dissertation.
