A series of seven sessions using guided imagery revealed that this method did make the members more aware of God in their daily lives and activities, in relationships, in worship, and in their resolution of conflict. However, it soon became apparent that all the adults (men and women alike) would benefit from the implementation of a simple, concrete spiritual growth model. This led to the development of the five core values of the Stillmeadow Church of the Nazarene: devotions, public worship, discipleship, service and witness.  The development and implementation of this particular project was based upon scripture, informed by the Wesleyan-Holiness faith tradition and in response to the needs of 21st-century persons. In general, sermons necessitate interpretation, explanation, and application.  In order to accomplish these things without adding didactic components to sermons which are presented as stories or dramas, the preacher must expand the text's events an characterization. This process, described in the thesis, is an exercise in poetic license. The project consisted of research into the subject of teams from both a secular and church-related perspective.  The role of part-time staff in the local church was also researched.  A series of eight equipping sessions were planned and conducted to equip the staff in accomplishing team-based ministry.  Averaging one hour in length, the equipping sessions dealt with the following areas: introduction and theological basis for team-based ministry, covenanting, vision-casting, culture-creating, collaborating, trusting, empowering, and learning.  The project was evaluated through various methods by participants, the project director, the project director's field mentor, professional educators, and the project director's faculty advisor. I instituted a ministry of hospitality at the Hosanna Methodist Church designed to assimilate newcomers. It is not a new question, nor does there appear to be a clear, united resolution.  In some discussions, there has been more heat than light.  The Baptist churches are in a state  of transition. However, in the meantime, how does a woman who claims the doctrine of Baptists as her own respond authentically to her faith when the institutions of that faith erect barriers to her? How does she personally interpret her faith in a meaningful way? What avenues of ministry are open to her? What impact does her ministry have on the work and theology of her denomination? What is the experience of a Baptist woman who is called to minister professionally? What has been the response of Baptists to her ministry? This project evaluates the steps and role a Baptist pastor and moderator of the Northern Virginia (NOVA) Baptist Association, namely Rev.
