The research explored the perceptions of catechumens and candidates, in order that pastoral ministers might facilitate the credibility of the Church's image in actualizing the liberation of humanity. For the catechumens and the candidates, critical areas of concern are identified as family, education, and spirituality. Theological research was conducted on the parish and seminary formation. The author conducted focus groups with parishioners and sent surveys out to college seminarians to help in the development of the parish model. Parish-like councils and commissions were established. The methodology used in the research was the case study method. The project focused on twelve interviews of pastors from Southern Baptist churches in the state of Kentucky.  The interview schedule was designed around nine research questions. The conclusions reached are as follows. All twelve pastors stressed the importance, or the essence of the spiritual disciplines to their ministry. All twelve pastors identified the importance of the spiritual disciplines but struggled with various obstacles in practicing the disciplines. Eleven of the twelve stated that their 'devotional reading' of the Bible was separate from sermon preparation. Students reported a high level of satisfaction with the project, while revealing difficulty in time management, finances, communication, personal habits, devotional life and child rearing. The changes include movement away from an agriculturally based rural community, changes in local businesses, and shifts in land use.  The impact includes shifts in church programs and demographics.  The process is a small discussion group from the membership of the churches, with interviews of key community members. Conclusions: the community has a generally positive worldview; the churches influence that worldview.
