At odds with a culture dominated by 'rugged individualism,' the preacher as community builder helps facilitate an authentic community of faith and caring by employing a collaborative model of preaching. In order to test the validity of these claims regarding the community builder metaphor, I worked in concert with eight laity from my ministry context at First Baptist Church of Forsyth, Georgia, developing an eight sermon series from the Book of Ecclesiastes."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129869295288320,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:22:33.694Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T08:53:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:20:54Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"63a46078-8894-4cce-b9ac-d09a1cb6f169","accessControl_ssim":["eab15608-b1c2-461f-aa91-023797151ec5"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preaching potluck or menu planning: how Enneagram types and preaching styles can provide a balanced diet to feed the body of Christ"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T08:53:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:02:49Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["000b3b61-4812-4319-9730-844cf88088a6"],"hasLease_ssim":["ff9a1b48-51bf-4021-8f00-258dbc2ac8ca"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"advisor_tesim":["E Larraine Frampton"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Paula V Mehmel"],"publisher_tesim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"subject_tesim":["Typology (Psychology)","Enneagram","Preaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This thesis explores how different Enneagram Types respond to different styles of sermons, arguing that it is vital for the preacher to incorporate different ways of thinking, feeling, and responding into the sermon in order to make a connection with a greater variety of people on a regular basis.
