Utilizing an approved bibliography and a survey of church members over 65, the director researched how Baby Boomers will live into their retirement as opposed to how Builders lived into theirs and developed a seminar that consisted of six ninety-minute sessions. Participants examined the dynamics of retirement and developed a future story that incorporated missions and ministry. Sessions included pertinent scripture, work sheets, questionnaires, PowerPoint presentations, discussion groups, and individual reflection. The project director researched demographics, interviewed national pastors and international missionaries, studied cultural nuances, and accumulated other data in order to understand the cultural and religious context in which a new church would be planted. From this collected data, the project director developed a strategy that involved the usage of a team approach to planting a new church. The International Mission Board regional leadership for Brazil decided to delay any action on the strategy developed for this project because of logistical problems related to the fact that the region was in the midst of a major transition. The Eastern and Western South America Regions were joined to form the South American Region. The strategy was then to be presented to members of Capshaw Baptist Church (CBC) for consideration for adoption. The project was to lead a selected group of members in the development of a strategy that would serve as a ministry plan to address the emotional and spiritual needs of families suffering from chemical addictions in CBC. The team was to utilize selected principles from Aubrey Malphurs' process of advanced strategic planning. Research for the project centered upon the discovery of available resources directed toward the family member of the addicted person. The student researched the availability of existing local church ministries or programs for family members of addicted persons, and Christian-based addiction recovery programs in the state that touched on the family members' need in the recovery process. The research methods used were qualitative, including interviews, observations, surveys, inventories, questionnaires, and journals.  The goal of the model was to examine how puberty, family, poverty, crime, and/or drugs may be related to low self-esteem. Pre-testing and post-testing, a spiritual awareness assessment, and weekly journal entries were utilized to evaluate spiritual maturity and awareness of God. After sharing in each class, participants were examined to see if any change took place. The methodology used to achieve the goal took place in the form of a pre and post-test, journaling, spiritual gifts inventory, and exit interviews.  The findings of the project showed that participants were strengthened as a result of the classes taught. A qualitative research method was employed using surveys and in-depth interviews.  The researcher discovered that conflict situations exist, that participants have an understanding of conflict, and that they believe the church should be concerned about the issue of conflict.  Many participants have unresolved feelings where conflict situations are not engaged. To achieve this goal, an alliance was formed and participants were engaged in unified multi-denominational and multi-cultural ministries such as prayer services, social gatherings and worship services.  Together the practicing churches took the presence of God into the community in the form of practical ministry: cleanup, vacation Bible school, and worship service in a city park. The purpose of the research was to demonstrate a correlation between small-group discipleship and the development of new male leadership in an aging church.  The researcher formed a group of seven men who met for nine weeks to learn discipleship principles.  The researcher administered measurement instruments for both Christian growth and change in attitude toward assuming leadership in the church at the beginning and conclusion of the intervention. The researcher implemented a diversity workshop, cultural heritage awareness night and focus group.  A questionnaire was used to develop qualitative data to evaluate the project.  The final product was a 'compendium of connectivity' which identified how current members may see new members as empowered, connected, or disconnected.
