Phase one will consist of the establishment of a group composed of ten to twelve postmodern persons. This group will be surveyed, interviewed, and will participate in a group discussion of issues relevant to the postmodern. The project leader will facilitate these meetings over a ten-week period. This group will seek to add new members weekly through the outreach efforts of the participants. Attendance records will be maintained, and the assimilation of postmoderns into the church will be measured via the Bible study ministry of the church. In the second phase a group of twenty to twenty-five church leaders will be assimilated to help evaluate how the church is responding to the needs of postmoderns. These participants will be surveyed and interviewed and will participate in a discussion of issues identified by the postmodern participants. The knowledge of these church leaders will be measured via pre and post tests. Phase three will be implemented in the worship service through a series of sermons designed to address the needs of a postmodern generation. Participants of both groups will conduct an analysis of the worship. The purpose of this project is to develop and enhance the church's efforts to engage postmoderns and to claim the postmodern context for Jesus Christ. It is built upon a biblical framework that offers the Christian worldview as plausible and credible to the postmodern person. It chooses to train church leaders concerning the postmodern context and seeks to initiate relationships between the postmodern, a community of faith, and church leadership."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133093362401280,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:13:48.405Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:16:09Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:15:37Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ed38a0cc-2aec-4373-badc-184ce2810afd","accessControl_ssim":["6fc84939-9951-4f9d-91f7-706d91911b58"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A strategy for the training of laypersons to evangelize and minister to a local community through a television ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:16:09Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:54:27Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["8f61d4fa-0d58-4d27-be92-88574ef4e382"],"hasLease_ssim":["4e2e2438-af7c-42cc-a1d6-bddd4affd454"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Dan R Crawford"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Gary C Nunn"],"publisher_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Evangelistic work","Mass media in religion","Television programs"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project enables a local congregation to utilize a television broadcast as an effective means for evangelism and ministry. The project compiles information collected from an anonymous survey distributed among local church clergy in the Central Texas Conference. The practicum/project was begun in January, 2005, after the survey had been created the previous November. Surveys were collected over a six week period and then the information was tallied over the next three months. Those completing the requested information were told verbally or in writing that it was an anonymous survey and they were not to sign it anywhere on the three-page questionnaire. In my paper I show how lay leadership understands their role is crucial to the living out of Christian mission within a congregation. When a congregation's leaders become distracted by other issues the direction of ministry can easily be derailed. This can lead the congregation away from the purpose of Christian mission. By keeping lay leadership, and thereby the entire congregation, focused on mission, God's will in the world can be carried out. 2. It is of paramount importance to help keep the congregation focused on the mission of evangelism. 3. This paper is written using the style format contained in: Kate L. Turabian, A Manual for Writers of Term Papers, Theses, and Dissertations, Sixth Edition (Chicago: University of Chicago Press, 1996). 4. A needed healing process was begun at the congregation. The author concluded that the healing processes necessarily led to leadership style changes."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["d722638c-a7e2-43f3-93ff-4762bde0dde7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133374679613440,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:18:16.690Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":412,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
