The hypothesis was that through the Sunday school program, families could be better equipped to do faith development in the home. New curriculum choices, teacher training and parent resources were introduced to accomplish this goal. Pre- and post-testing of the parents in the church showed that the research project did provide the parents the resources needed to continue the Sunday school lessons at home. A case study was implemented to evaluate the experiences of those that participated in a well-planned series of consciousness-raising transforming seminars. The data triangulation methodology included surveys, interviews, and audio/videotape recordings. The researcher discovered that, while a majority had an awareness of the congregation's culture and language, only 40% surveyed understood how culture and language applied to their roles as church leaders. College students completed a survey instrument that demonstrated many anti-Christian hostilities. As a result of that survey, a curriculum was developed to be used among college-bound mid-adolescents to equip them with the necessary tools to defend and stand firm in their Christian faith. Alongside the curriculum, the survey instrument also indicated the need and value for an active mentoring ministry to be employed amongst the church's mid-adolescents. Current research is used to study trends in giving and stewardship strategies among evangelical Christians. This project identifies the theology and frequency of diaconate preaching and explains the importance of deacons to be able to effectively communicate God's message. The seminar helped the participants to recognize, understand and apply specific skills in which to enhance their preaching.
