It is a study of ten Brethren churches in Singapore. Using the case study method, the study considers the process undertaken by the churches in identifying potential leaders, encouraging and preparing them for leadership, and appointing them to assume full leadership responsibilities in the local churches as elders, thus ensuring leadership continuity. The analysis of the research was synthesized into twelve significant observations. The methodology presented in this project is a combination of the following six components.  The director of Church of God World Missions has vast practical experience at various levels of leadership.  His desire is for a practical approach that has a large portion of training time taking place in an overseas or foreign context.  The next area of focus concentrates on strategic leadership meetings. While much time has been spent consulting with Church of God World Missions, other key departments have been consulted within our denomination as well. The third area of impact on the methodology of this project is the literature review.  Various sources have been used including lecture notes, books, and dissertations on holistic discipleship.  In addition, the literature review gathers specific information for the missionary training manual that is not a part of this dissertation project.  Another major factor that influences this project is my past ten years of experience in leading a discipleship training program.  These years of experience play a crucial role in shaping the discipleship component of the missionary training paradigm.  The fifth major area that has shaped this project is the courses and faculty I have been exposed to at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Several professors taught modules that have helped establish a holistic discipleship structure to minister to the whole person.  The final component is the data that was received from current Church of God missionaries that completed the design questionnaire. The research design combined thirteen weeks of instruction, weekly sermonic reading, daily practice of the spiritual disciplines, and evaluation instruments. The workshop was developed and implemented by the author in cooperation with Ecuadorian leadership during a two-year term from July, 1999, to June, 2001. Questionnaires and interviews were used to evaluate the outcome. They indicated significant involvement in discipling as much as two years after the workshop. They can be combined with evangelism to form the outreach ministry of the church to its community.  Various Chinese churches in different countries have used this model of sharing the love and the gospel of Christ through evangelism and social services.  The focus of this project is the development of a community ministry plan for a Chinese church in Canada.  The author surveyed over a hundred and fifty Chinese churches in eastern Canada and conducted in-depth interviews with four of the churches with community ministry.  Furthermore, three community service organizations in Ottawa where the author's church is located were interviewed in order to better assess the needs of the community.  Based on the findings of the research, a plan is developed to implement community ministry. This ministry project deals specifically with accomplishing this task.  The project provides a theological and theoretical foundation with a strategy for planning, implementing, and evaluating the use of sensory stimuli to communicate biblical truths.  The project focuses on a group of participants and their journey as they learned and practiced shared biblical truths using their five senses. This project examined biblical and extra-biblical texts, contemporary leadership and management materials on servant leadership and input from churches operating with the Carver policy governance model for their governing board for application to the elder board of First Evangelical Free Church of Maplewood, Minnesota. Category sets of governing policies and elder selection and screening materials were developed. The group, which was comprised of Christians from sixteen distinct cultures, sought to identify as many people groups as could be found, and to locate their places of activity.  They wrote a mission statement and established core values with multiple strategies.
