The six-session program (including a twelve-chapter story, reflection questions, and group discussion) was based on biblical theology of mission and work as well as core concepts in the Business as Mission movement. Fifteen marketplace leaders participated in the three-month program. participants. Participants were pretested and posttested using both quantitative and qualitative measurements. There were five sessions and six couples involved. The program was designed to help couples grow in love, assess key relational issues and increase in their appreciation of marital enrichment. They spent another three months compiling the long-rage plan based on their reflections from the reading and workshops, the feedback from parents who have autistic kid(s), the responses of eighty-nine surveyees, and the insight gained from the analysis of the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats while adopting a new ministry. This research project used both quantitaive and qualitative methods to determine the effect of premarital counseling combined with a couple-to-couple mentoring emphasizing self-disclosure and communication. The participants were couples who were members of the Churches of Christ and who claimed they were virgins before their marriage date. Key considerations were: How a companion could support spiritual benefits of hymns for worship; how a companion would support needs of worship leaders and congregants; the necessity of music knowledge for ministry; and how background information of a hymn affects appreciation for the sermon. The study was carried out at faith A. M. E. Zion Church, Atlanta, GA. The author made a theological case for the study of martial arts style self-defense by faithful Christians. First, it listens to the witness of women and genderqueer people about their own complex bodies, identitites, and experiences, treating these as primary theological text. Second, it employs a matrix for theological reflection, engaging the positive, negative, creative, and transformative aspects of embodiment and sexuality in order to create a liberative, eschatological vision.
