Christian unity and disunity are presented in an historical and developmental overview. Four current models of ecumenism are outlined in contrast to COCU's covenanting model.  A questionnaire was used to gauge grassroots awareness of COCU, concern for Christian unity, and openess to COCU's proposal.  Resulting data indicate a desire for Christian unity (with some latitude in its definition), little knowledge of COCU, and an audience receptive to COCU's work. Does building a church provide a way of expressing faith? Should some disgruntled church members drop out during the process? Should there be any disgruntled members?  Twenty-two people of Northside United Methodist Church were interviewed following their building program.  This project explains how building a church building begins by building a church within the lives of people through a variety of methods including prayer. This relationship-based ministry is designed to promote the recovery and reintegration of battered women and their children back into the community following their refuge in an area shelter by involving congregations as a primary foundation of support.  With the aim of offering abused women an opportunity to become independent and establish a violence and abuse-free home, the program addresses the numerous multifaceted needs of battered women through the creation of several interactive networks of supportive relationships.  The project demonstrated the program's effectiveness as a successful model for ministry. The basic procedure of Robert Gardner's mutual storytelling was used to elicit the children's responses.  Eight children between the ages of eight and twelve were interviewed and the sample was taken from the pediatric ward at Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, Massachusetts. Often ignored and always condemned, intermarriage has nonetheless brought into our temples many non-Jewish spouses, who without conversion are not recognized as temple members, even when they marry into active Jewish families.  Teshuvah is a new paradigm offering an identifiable status to these non-Jews, opening the door to conversion while not requiring it. Leader and couple manuals were developed.  Besides study and research, the director drew upon his own personal experience and knowledge of Hispanic culture.  The training was carried out through pre-retreat examinations and questionnaires, a three-day training and enrichment retreat, and follow-up evaluations. The director of the project prepared the training material which presented evangelism as a process rather than as a point of decision.  Following an eight-hour training clinic, fifteen pastors and church leaders returned to their congregations to conduct a six-week training program.  This training involved discovering circles of influence, intercession, repairing broken or unhealthy relationships, counseling, and keeping a daily journal of witnessing contacts and intercessory prayer requests.  A pre- and a post-training survey as well as weekly reports from participants were used to measure the increase in the number of witnessing contacts and the development of new relationships.
