The geography, history, and ethnic makeup of South Africa, where Murray served, is reviewed.  His early life, education in Scotland and Holland, and return to South Africa are highlighted. Murray's four pastorates with the Dutch Reformed Church provide examples of his missionary fervor, particularly his establishment in Wellington of the Missionary Training Institute and Huguenot College. The practicum/project takes seriously the historical documentation of the relevance of dreams.  The method of Jungian dream analysis was used with the small groups. This method of analysis allowed the participants to develop a process to understand their dreams and to relate the dream to their spirituality.  The practicum was conducted over a six-week period of time.  Forty-one participants were enrolled in three dream analysis classes.  The participants were from a United Methodist Church and a retirement center in Little Rock, Arkansas.  Each group met with the pastor weekly for a 1-hour dream analysis session. These 3 groups were separated into distinct age-groups: ages 20-45, 46-69, 70-90.  A dream notebook was kept by each participant. This practicum/project has established the importance of understanding dreams as a revelatory event. This thesis proposes a vital part of the answer to this problem by presenting a biblical model of addiction and ministry to the addicted. The author points out the flaws in 12-step groups and provides an alternative which is biblical in its approach. This alternative is called Higher Ground, a local church-sponsored, Christ-centered support group for the addicted and the family.  The author presents a history of this ministry, shows how it implements biblical principles and evaluates the effectiveness of this ministry with statistics and case studies. Since a satisfied volunteer remains in a given position longer than an unsatisisfied volunteer, specific methods for increasing personal fulfillment are applied.  In Section I, volunteers discover their TEAM--Temperament, Experiences, Abilities, and Motivators.  As the volunteer learns more about the person God has designed him to be, he can better understand the ministry God has designed him to do.  In Section II, the supervisor learns how a volunteer's ministry can be enhanced when he receives CARE from his ministry supervisor--Clarified expectations, Agreed upon objectives, Reviewed progress, and being Equipped for growth. In the final section, the supervisor is instructed to encourage his volunteers to GROW--Get to know God, Relate wisely to others, be Open to personal change, and be Willing to profit from problems. The project is designed to identify and use those marketing approaches which will be the most effective in attracting visitors to the First Baptist Church of Oceanside.  A secondary aim of this project is to create a resource which will assist other established, traditional churches in similar situations as they seek to effectively 'market' their ministry for the glory of God.  The reason why this project was undertaken is to focus and maximize the limited marketing resources, time and effort which the church has in order to increase the number of church visitors.  The church will then be able to witness from a position of strength as it specifically reaches out to those who by their presence indicate a spiritual receptivity. Five strategic marketing strategies are identified, tried and evaluated based upon a survey of 498 visitors over a 25 month period.  A statistical analysis is made comparing the relative effectiveness of each marketing strategy. People are hungry for proclamation with power that healing ministry involves.  This is evidenced within the congregation that healing ministry is introduced. This project explores the rationale and the biblical guidelines for the training of youth pastors.  It also presents a youth ministry concentration model designed for that purpose. Included is a study of the training of youth pastors in the Assemblies of God and more specifically at Southeastern College of the Assemblies of God.  Southeastern's prior effectiveness in preparing men and women to be youth pastors is evaluated through surveying alumni who graduated over a twelve-year period.  Others who are experienced in the field of youth ministry were asked to evaluate the youth ministry concentration model. It is designed to help those who are separated and divorced gain spiritual, emotional and physical wholeness.  A feature of the program is that it emphasizes God's design for marriage and, within that context, explains when divorce and remarriage is permitted within the boundaries of his Word.  This project utilizes an evangelistic and discipleship thrust to reach the lost and fallen.
