It includes an enunciation of the theological and theoretical issues that impacted the project.  Objectives for the project are stated and evaluated.  The implementation resulted in a statistical increase in the number of members who filed a ministry menu in the office, who performed a ministry, and who became active transferring their ministry to others. Participants were pastors, therapists, and pastoral counselors who give spiritual guidance within the Protestant tradition.  James Fowler's faith development interview provided a pre-retreat picture of the participants.  The leader used a regimen of spiritual exercises designed to evoke a powerful sense of God's presence for them.  The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, Pearson's Heroic Myth Index, and self-projective artwork gave participants ways to engage their personal unconscious material. The participants engaged in three foci designed to develop their spirituality: personal spiritual disciplines, individual spiritual direction with the project director, and a weekly meeting that included group spiritual direction.  The weekly meetings also introduced the students to alternative spiritual exercises which the project director encouraged the participants to practice. Action research utilizing an experimental and a control group tested the proposal that reciprocal self-disclosure acts as a catalyst in facilitating intimacy and individuality.  Pre- and posttests employed the Group Environment Scale and the Tennessee Self-Concept Scale.  Based on a significance level of .05, the experimental group revealed a significant increase in self-disclosure.  The control group did not. Neither group demonstrated significant statistical changes in intimacy and individuality. The application section put the previous material to work in assessing the basic claims of five groups: the Pentecostal-Charismatic movement, the New Age movement, Roman Catholicism, Islam, and humanism. Codependency identifies responses by individuals, family systems, and organizations to addiction.  They are attempts to restore balance to addicted systems.  Four students preparing for ministry volunteered for interviews about personal and family history.  All were self-identified children of alcoholics.  Three were female.  All identified male parents as alcoholic; none identified females.
