The purpose of this project is to identify the commonality Christian traditions now hold regarding Mary.  Biblical, historical, traditional, and emotional evidence was gathered to identify and clarify the areas of collective Christian assent regarding Mary.  A team representing eight different denominational traditions was recruited.  The team met on three occasions for seminars open to the public. An experimental group was exposed to six one-hour alcohol education sessions over as many weeks.  A control group in a comparable nearby church received no education.  Utilizing identical anonymous pretests and posttests for both groups, it was determined a significant change did take place in the attitudes of the experimental group, but not in the control group. Following explanation of these concepts, doctrines of God, Christ, the Bible, the church, justice and economics are considered.  The practicum lasted ten weeks with ten lay persons participating.  It was concluded that God's majesty is revealed in religion and science.  Any offered position must reflect creation's implicit wholeness. An historical study, it begins with an overview of EATWOT, showing the marginal role of its women members. Consequently, the women formed a commission within EATWOT with its own program of 'doing theology from the perspective of Third World women.'  The rest of the chapters focus on the growth of the women's theological consciousness, first corporately through the work of the commission, then individually through the separate stories of eight of its members. The purpose of this dissertation is to record the degree of effectiveness which word pictures, embedded in inductively formatted sermons, had in the adult Sunday school classes of the Whiteville United Methodist Church.  The thesis of this study is that when a minister utilizes inductive sermon designs in his or her adult Sunday school classes, the majority of all responses will be positive. The end result will be a desire by both the speaker and hearers to make further use of these distinctive inductive formats.  The instrument used as a measuring device is the Boyd Stokes Questionnaire. This form was administered after each sermon was preached, and an overall average response factor was determined from the resultant data. Focus on the intuitive, eternal and intangible led Ralph Burhoe to develop a scientific theology, Duncan Howlett a rational-critical theology, and Peter Fleck a spiritually dualistic Christian theology in the early 1980s. The result is a training manual that first outlines the overall principles in counseling Chinese. Research revealed that funeral plans are best made in advance, eliminating unnecessary, hidden expenses and avoidance of emotional trauma.
