Through the use of archetypal imagery, group reflection, and symbolic reinterpretation of life experiences, subjects explore their past, present, and future life's direction.  The curriculum is designed to be adapted for group settings ranging from teens in identity formation through adults experiencing acute emotional crises. The methods used in this research are from the perspectives of biblical theology, systematic theology, historical theology, sociology, futurology, statistics, and practical theology. There are two parts of this research. The first part is the foundation of world missions and its development, including four chapters: The Bible and World Missions; The Church and World Mission; Church History and World Missions; Era and World Missions. The second part is the investigation of world missions and its implementation in the Chinese churches, including two chapters: A Survey for Mission Ministries of the Chinese Churches; and, Implementation of Mission Ministries of the Chinese Churches. Some North American churches and the South Korean churches of the second half of the twentieth century have both prayed and fasted for their countries as a regular practice, resulting in an increased number of believers. The history of Latin American Christianity reveals that the gospel has not been fully and meaningfully communicated, and that traditional methods, which have been strictly theologically oriented, have been polemical and relatively unsuccessful. The paradigm was presented in a series of five sermons and teaching lessons to the congregation of Berean Grace Fellowship, and in a series of five sermons to the pastor's conference of the Grace Gospel Fellowship. The two groups of respondents received the same information about the paradigm. After the presentations were completed, a post-evaluation assessment was administered to evaluate the impact, adequacy, and presentation of the paradigm. The thesis project is a personal journey of exploring the meaning of sacramental preaching in this setting from the point of view of a chaplain to a congregation whose members are not only very old, but also suffer from one or more impairments of aging that adversely effect their ability to hear a traditional sermon. I had a hunch that there was a strong link between my preaching and the pastoral work that I do daily for them. That link involved what were for me holy encounters that seemed sacramental within the pastoral relationships: praying or talking about something very sacred, or discovering unexpected love and grace. I discovered during the project what it was about sacramental preaching that seemed to reveal or announce something about those holy encounters. The project looked at several of the components that undergird a congregation of evangelists: organizational structure, ability to name and proclaim the good news, and creation of opportunities to interact with neighbors. To aid in this there is theological reflection, the ability to explore one's responses made to God.  A three tiered plan was implemented to examine this: reflection groups were established in four ecclesiastically diverse congregations; each was nurtured in a theological reflective process for four to five weeks; and members were encouraged to further develop and use theological reflection skills.
