The contextual approach developed by Ivan Boszormenyi-Nagy and the relational-ethical thinking of Martin Buber are applied. Based on these perspectives, the specific trust-building and trust-diminishing aspects of biblical teachings, the inherited church history, and present church life are investigated.  Modalities are outlined which reverse the process of losing trust and which enable persons to accept their relational responsibilities vis-à-vis others and the inherited legacy. His assertions were affected by his long life, by special people in his life, and by a rebellious stance he assumed toward the established church. 'Kitty Hawk' is a model for understanding his view of the nature of God and humanity. Metaphors for ministry are interpreted for liturgical, biblical, and topical sermon applications. The Study Guide designed by the author for this project report was used in a group of eight persons.  The Study Guide was structured to assist the participants in a learning process towards growth.  It was a learning process that merged the cognitive (empirical knowledge of six selected Psalms) with the affective (the participant's feelings while responding to the emotional utterances of the psalmist).  It was a learning experience that proved to be different for most of the participants in that it was a spiritual growth experience. The paper describes devotions followed for a two year period. Devotions included Morning Prayer from the Lutheran Book of Worship, a designated set of psalms and sections of Scripture, prayer and meditation.  The discipline also included a reading program. A handbook was produced which includes samples of the Agape and general and specific guidelines for its practice in congregations and family units.  The study begins with a literature survey and then moves into a description of field research of contemporary practice in the USA, British Isles, Europe and Australasia.
