The paradigm was presented in a series of five sermons and teaching lessons to the congregation of Berean Grace Fellowship, and in a series of five sermons to the pastor's conference of the Grace Gospel Fellowship. The two groups of respondents received the same information about the paradigm. After the presentations were completed, a post-evaluation assessment was administered to evaluate the impact, adequacy, and presentation of the paradigm. The thesis project is a personal journey of exploring the meaning of sacramental preaching in this setting from the point of view of a chaplain to a congregation whose members are not only very old, but also suffer from one or more impairments of aging that adversely effect their ability to hear a traditional sermon. I had a hunch that there was a strong link between my preaching and the pastoral work that I do daily for them. That link involved what were for me holy encounters that seemed sacramental within the pastoral relationships: praying or talking about something very sacred, or discovering unexpected love and grace. I discovered during the project what it was about sacramental preaching that seemed to reveal or announce something about those holy encounters. Research involved studying both the changed context in which the church now ministers and ways a congregation can expand its understanding of evangelism. The project looked at several of the components that undergird a congregation of evangelists: organizational structure, ability to name and proclaim the good news, and creation of opportunities to interact with neighbors. To aid in this there is theological reflection, the ability to explore one's responses made to God.  A three tiered plan was implemented to examine this: reflection groups were established in four ecclesiastically diverse congregations; each was nurtured in a theological reflective process for four to five weeks; and members were encouraged to further develop and use theological reflection skills. The project attempted to create a practical and applicable approach that enhances men's ministries in the local church by applying biblical principles relating specifically to leadership and spiritual character development.  An eight-member support group focused on leadership, integrity, fellowship and training (LIFT).  The anticipated desire for the development of the project is to create future training opportunities for other laity. Church, Kansas City, Missouri. The objective of this project is to move the ministry from a position of decline to that of gaining momentum. These keys are encouragement, empowerment, structured foundations of vital ministries, planning (short and long term), healthy stewardship and finances, and worship. Three sessions on these subjects were designed by the pastor and presented to the church board. Five related sessions were presented to the congregation. The findings revealed that board and congregation were distrustful and non-supportive of each other. One congregant even challenged the board and pastor openly at the close of session four.
