The multi-faceted responsibility of pastoring a local church makes the practice very difficult. A study of the development of pastoral care in scripture and history led the author to define pastoral care as leading people into holy living through their faith in Christ within the context of the local congregation provided a foundation for developing praxis for the responsibility. The mutual ministry of the people provides care that has been the objective of pastoral visitation. A sample of congregants was recruited and afforded a treatment consisting of eight seminars, a series of topical sermons and other support. Through the administration of a pre-test and post-test the project measures the discipleship growth of the experimental group as compared with two control groups within the context and three control groups external to the context. An observable shift from worship to entertainment in the music ministry of the church led to the implementation of a series of workshops and seminars targeting a test group of musicians and singers, who were then educated in the history and development of the African-American Spiritual and Gospel music worship traditions. It was started to give rabbinic students the opportunity to obtain practical rabbinical experience under the guidance and supervision of a trained rabbinic mentor. In this thesis, the author has done an evaluation of the rabbinic residencies program as to its effectiveness in positively influencing the professional and personal growth of participating rabbinic students. This project portrays their experience of ministry together. It attempts to discern if these are working models of ministry in which persons from different socio-economic situation work together in mutual relationship of ministry. It sets forth their successes and what they have found to be obstacles in their lives together. A long-term sermon plan was developed and implemented using the book of Second Corinthians to impact the believers at Fellowship Evangelical Church towards spiritual growth. An instrument was developed and used to pre-test and post-test participants in order to measure the effectiveness of the messages preached. Measurable areas of spiritual development were developed, incorporated didactically into the series, and stressed throughout the preaching series. The analysis of the post-test shows a measurable change in some areas of spiritual growth. The primary purpose of the project was to utilize trained persons more effectively for the proclamation of the gospel.  Questionnaires were distributed to the congregation to determine the subjects for training seminars.  Entrance and exit examinations were given to gauge what participants had learned and how they had changed. The subjects of the seminars were the necessity of lay leadership, non-participatory and participatory ways of education, equality and impartiality, and types of leadership.
