A workshop was developed and conducted by Wade Robertson for the leadership team of the Friendship Baptist Fellowship of Pocola, Oklahoma. The six hours and fifteen minutes of the workshop covered the areas of: God's purpose for the world; biblical foundations for teamwork; a holisitic system of Christian education; ministry alignment; forming people-centered goals; and developing a total church strategy for making disciples. The project objectives were brought into focus through the teaching workshop lectures and learning activities. The participants filled out pre-/post-workshop questionnaires, designed to show change in understanding of the project concept and change in perspective. They also wrote an evaluation. An outside observer visited the workshop and gave an evaluation. The primary objective of the project was achieved through the team's voluntary forming of an age-group team. Two progressive steps accomplish this goal. First, endorsement of multicultural ministry applying to all areas of church life is secured through official action by the church. The church's written position on multicultural ministry makes it possible for emerging multiethnic leaders to function in the church. Second, a leadership development seminar is designed to equip participants with the knowledge, understanding and skills needed for leadership development in the multicultural context. Participants are trained in leadership principles relating to culture, character, and competency. The participants are already functioning leaders in the church and enter into mentoring relationships with potential leaders of a different ethnic background than their own. M. E. Church, Yellow Springs, Ohio.  Through the use of sermons, Bible Studies, workshops, and music appreciation seminars, data was gathered and studied.  Included in this study was a six-month series of church music appreciation courses that was mandatory for all musicians, choir members, worship leaders, and ministers.  It was evaluated through a pre-course and post-course survey. The methodologies included education of membership and shepherds, selection of populations for cells, tally sheets of various contacts, questionnaires to both cell families and shepherds and reflection of the researcher.  The findings proved this ministry is needed in the context and transferable to the general church. The character of a congregation is determined by its spirituality and social justice relevance.  The hypothesis is if members of a congregation understand the mandates of the gospel, they will develop a social justice consciousness.  The research methodology is a pre-test questionnaire that quantifies their understanding. A 'participant-observer' field method is used through the course of the study. A four-fold analysis (contextual, mechanical, organic, and symbolic) of a congregation's subculture aids the preacher in the work of ethnography.  The symbolic analysis is expanded to include seven congregational symbols readily accessible to the preacher.  The study utilizes story in reporting the findings that detail the congregation's unique world view, values, and ethos.  The study then explores the role of ethnography in sermon preparation and the preaching moment.  Members of the congregation participated in a parish project group to prepare and evaluate sermons.  Interventions were based on feedback from the project group, a congregational survey, and the effect of preaching on the congregation's vision for future ministries.
