By attaining biblical perspectives concerning worship and by developing and implementing a worship committee, the church became aware of the importance of various elements of worship and the need for a change in the style of worship. The project drew on research into the biblical and theological basis of worship.  Insights from the traditional, contemporary and blended worship styles were presented. Four sermons and several creative worship services were planned. However, during the last decade advances in genetic technology have brought this dialogue to the attention of millions of church members who are not professional scientists or theologians.  This project seeks to provide a means for congregations to grapple with the ethical and theological concerns raised by new genetic technologies.  The project first identifies a few broad-based convictions inherent in the  prevailing worldview and compares and contrasts this with Christian worldview. The particular genre is expository preaching.  The student's personal faith journey, theological views of Scripture and the embrace of expository preaching in discipleship development are highlighted.  The doctoral paper provides a description of the context within which the project was developed, and the motivations that led to the founding of the congregation.  The student implemented this strategy through a series of expository sermons followed by a focus group to reflect, respond, interact and evaluate relevance, contents, form and outcome. The method involved a sermon series on spiritual gifts, a course on spiritual gift identification, individual consultations with the pastor, and placement in ministry opportunities.  The project resulted in more members serving in ministry.  A lay ministry of Congregational Care was implemented.  The Nominating Committee adopted an improved method of matching members with ministry opportunities.  Twenty people went on a mission trip to Puerto Rico.
