The study focuses on the question: What is a good death?  A single case study approach is used and the data are collected, analyzed, and synthesized using Narrative Inquiry Methods. It was concluded that Andy did have a good death experience and that quality of relationships are key in determining whether a person dies well or not. The model was developed to meet the challenge of preparing individuals for the preaching ministry. Thirty students attended three-hour classes each Saturday for sixteen weeks. A long-term sermon plan was developed and implemented using the book of Revelation to impact the believers at Tulsa Bible Church toward spiritual development. An instrument was developed and used to pretest and posttest in order to measure the effectiveness of the program. Areas of measurable spiritual development were developed, incorporated didactically into the series and emphasized throughout the planned sermons. The analysis of the posttest shows a measurable change in some areas of spiritual development. The study included the development of a spiritual formation curriculum that had three main components:  (1) A theological and historical overview of spiritual formation;  (2) The use of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator  to help students discover how their natural dispositions influence their spiritual pilgrimage; (3) The establishment of weekly accountability groups. The research design involved the administering of the Personal Questionnaire and the Spiritual Life Inventory for gaining quantitative data before and after the class.  I also maintained a daily journal of class sessions and instructor-student accountability sessions. This journal documented lecture topics, class discussions, and personal issues influencing students' spiritual pilgrimages. This data was used to provide descriptive information.  The major implication of this research is that students can benefit from participation in a spiritual formation curriculum offering. First, the approach used by Thomas Groome referred to as 'story-telling' and 'creative imagination' will be explored with George Stroup's use of biblical narratives for helping older adults in making meaning in their lives. A discovery that a generation of members was missing from elected leadership led to generational insights and how adding this generation to leadership impacted the church. Decisions concerning building, staff, and contemporary worship also impacted growth.  Research isolated four paramount factors in the church: predominance of prayer, pastoral leadership, drawing four generations into leadership, and unity throughout the congregation. In order to achieve this, two groups of students were observed.  Seven teens participated in a ten-week confirmation class that used story as primary teaching method at the church.  A second confirmation class, which did not use story as its principal teaching method, was also tested.  The second class was comprised of seven junior high school students from the Westminster Presbyterian Church (Presbyterian Church U.S.A.), Marion, Indiana.  Both groups were given the Spiritual Well-Being (SWB) instrument before the confirmation classes started, at the conclusion of the classes, and six weeks after the classes ended. Since there were only fourteen subjects, the data collected for this study are seen as a limited ethnographic analysis and any inference must be made with caution.  The data presented here indicate evidence of positive spiritual growth in both groups, some of which persisted to six weeks.  The story treatment group SWB rose from pre-test to post-test, then declined at the six-week post-test.  However, it remained higher than at the pre-test level.  The Presbyterian group SWB rose from pre-test, then increased again at the six week post-test.
