It is important to provide a relevant equipping program to transform the young-old from retiree to an active servant of God, thus to live their life fruitfully and meaningfully and accomplish the task given by God which serves to bless the middle old and old-old generation. This paper focuses on two main areas: the transformation principles through the study of the life of Moses from shepherd of the flock to the leader of the Israelite crowd, and a study of the equipping program of the Golden Army of Heaven (GAOH) and modifications of it to suit the Singapore context. Therefore, this study was designed to explore how pastors make application in such sermons. The study used a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with four pastors from the Reformed/Presbyterian tradition who were very dedicated to preaching Christ and making good application. Making application from Old Testament narratives is more of an art than science. Statistical data was collected for over 600 churches in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of The United Methodist Church for the years 1974 to 2014. Graphs were generated that plotted average worship attendance for that range of years for each of those churches and, concurrently, the pastoral leadership of those churches. This project found a decrease in average worship attendance for the Conference, but also found evidence of vitality in many congregations and pastors. Rapid urbanization, unprecedented economic prosperity giving rise to a new middle-class, tied together with the adoption of the one-child policy in 1981 have created a new set of challenges to church leaders seeking to reach the new generation for Christ. The traditional house church, born in persecution from the government, with its emphasis on separation from the world and zealous personal piety, is no longer able to effectively reach the new generation with the gospel. Using a methodology developed from Latin@ theologies and the tool of web ethnography, the author studies the web and social media sites of four HSIs in different geographic regions. Critical pedagogies and LatCrit theory provide lenses to evaluate the data gathered through web ethnographies. Making use of critical pedagogies and its constitutions and statutes, the author attends to the community's tradition, the lived experience of Redemptorists, and the U.S. cultural milieu. The author formulates a process of formation that reimagines an exclusive focus on the individual, positing one that is community centered and dialogic. He addresses three different formative moments for pastoral response; the novitiate, transition to ministry, and ongoing formation.
