With a historical perspective on fund raising, both from the church and parachurch organizations, the project develops a practical and appropriate plan for raising money into the twenty-first century. Although the strategy targets primarily members of the Challenge Center, it may also influence others in the surrounding community who have physical disabilities. The project defines the problem, reviews current biblical, theological, sociological, psychological, and popular literature, and administers a survey of the Challenge Center population. This research reveals that although disability can lead to greater faith, disabled persons report greater alienation from the church than is present among members of the general public. A telephone survey solicits data from 169 churches, and a random sample of 30 churches are personally interviewed using an extended survey instrument.  The project subjects responses to exploratory and inferential analyses, using the multiple and stepwise regressions.
