The project examined the literature of premarital counseling, determined through surveys what pastors in the Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod South and North Wisconsin Districts are presently using in their ministries, and determined through surveys what premarital counseling the married members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church had. This research led to development and implementation of a six-session premarital counseling program and a manual covering six topics and designed for couples to keep throughout their marriage. Participants were led in weekend marriage crisis-intervention seminars designed to help them better understand themselves and their spouses. They learned about personality, conflict, communication, forgiveness, and change. Worldview affects the cognitive, affective, and volitive center of a person, and therefore Christian ministry should seek to effect changes at the level of worldview.  Among Chinese intellectuals the May Fourth Movement at the beginning of the twentieth century initiated profound changes in worldview.  This project proposes that this moment in history Christians could effect a massive worldview change among contemporary Chinese intellectuals. Based on a review of literature concerning worldview, animism, and contextualization, the project prepared, distributed, and analyzed a questionnaire among three sample groups: randomly selected residents of Luchou in Taipei County, 60 young men in the military, and 21 acquaintances of church members. Among them are three large and well-known churches--Nairobi Pentecostal Church, founded by Canadian missionaries; St Andrew Presbyterian Church, founded by Scottish missionaries; and All Saints Anglican Cathedral, founded by English missionaries.  While elite, multiethnic Christian national members of these churches, many of whom are beneficiaries of the long missionary presence, begin to catch the missionary vision, it is necessary to explore and examine, on the basis of Christology, some of the factors that have kept them from a missionary vocation. In multiple, in-depth interviews with 23 mission leaders from 13 different mission agencies this project probes differences between boomer missionaries and the previous generation (limited-time commitment, participatory leadership style, personal development a high priority, family needs determine placement) and examines how these differences have changed the way missions function today.
