The study brings together the disciplines of theology, history and applied social sciences to analyze and propose appropriate interventions into conflict. The author's congregation is the setting for a case study in which a Christian community's encounter with non-Christian religious perspectives prompts commonly recognized paradigms of response (exclusivism, inclusivism, and pluralism) to other religious faiths as ways of salvation. The study proposes that persons will evidence preference for the attitude of religious pluralism. An attitudinal survey indicates some shift in this direction and suggests that dialogue can serve to strengthen a person's understanding of his or her own faith."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Christian Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["795851c5-e081-4353-9c00-2c554dd1d015"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134944226967552,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:43:13.527Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:42:18Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:43:26Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"3e8de142-2c97-4dbe-ae7b-17ad4c1a1a20","accessControl_ssim":["a023e2e0-9203-4b17-994a-d3bb6436f692"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A program of caregiving skills for the adult children of elderly parents"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:42:15Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:56:44Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3445bdfe-eade-48a1-9aa9-efadc0ebd11c"],"hasLease_ssim":["1e351424-4d4f-4a07-a03d-defd883a9a7f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Christian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Brynolf Lyon"],"year_tesim":["1988"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Donald B Orander"],"publisher_tesim":["Christian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Families--Religious life","Aging parents","Behavior modification","Decision making"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project adopts some of the premises of the STEP (Systematic Training for Effective Parenting) Program which is designed for use with children. It includes a critical, historical analysis of supervision within the Pentecostal context. The author concludes that ministry supervision is undergirded by three confessional elements which legitimate Pentecostal ministry. The three confessional elements which serve as an interpretive framework for the educational design of Pentecostal supervision are 1) supervision as covenant; 2) supervision as character; and 3) supervision as commission. An educational design for training field supervisors finally must be focused, refined, interpreted and, at times, limited by the way this particular Pentecostal group views its purpose and mission within the broader church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Candler School of Theology"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["1e360310-aec8-4e88-a19a-00b4db71ef4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134860499222528,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:41:53.677Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13089,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
