The project director analyzed new member assimilation data at Eastwood Baptist Church from 2009 until 2012 and discovered a low percentage of new member assimilation. The project director researched the fields of new member assimilation and strategy development along with the biblical basis of church membership. After the research segment the project director led Eastwood Baptist Church to create a New Member Orientation Committee to assist in developing a new member orientation strategy. The project director trained the New Member Orientation Committee to understand the basics of new member orientation and to develop a strategy to improve assimilation. To that end, the purpose of this study was to discover the process by which recent converts became Christians and connected to local churches in thoroughly secular suburban settings. Following a qualitative research method, along with the constant comparative method, eight recent converts were interviewed. The final phase of the project involved the implementation of the workshop sessions and assignments. The project director equipped 15 selected leaders of First Baptist Church in essential truths of small group effectiveness. A literature review was conducted that centered on the methods of preparation and delivery of sermons that would be beneficial to chaplains in the field. The study followed a qualitative research method, utilizing semi-structured interviews with six chaplains, analyzed in a constant comparative method. The research found that chaplains delivered their sermons extemporaneously, often without notes, and utilized oral methods of preparation grounded upon their own personal devotions and prayer. The study utilized a qualitative case study design using semi-structured interviews with six students who studied a class on leadership at the San Pablo Presbyterian Seminary in Juarez, Mexico. The findings of the study revealed that these students constructed meaning of class theory, were motivated to utilize it in practice, and transferred theory to practice by utilizing their concurrent leadership responsibilities. This study concluded that pre-professional theological education should include as much experiential education as possible into the curriculum. This study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with eight business leaders from suburban Presbyterian churches. The findings of the study were that these business leaders are to pay careful attention to several important principles of inter-cultural leadership in collaborating for transformational development. The first conclusion regarding leadership roles was that suburban business leaders play very significant and changing roles in both inter-cultural and homogenous partnerships. The second conclusion regarding cultural intelligence was that business leaders realize the need to develop a deeper understanding of their partners from diverse cultures. The third conclusion regarding the politics of power was that business leaders have to negotiate with others from both the urban communities, as well as the centralized powers within their own suburban congregations. The Bible uses many different motivations to move Christians towards obedience, such as the promise of rewards and the threat of consequences. Some of these motives do not seem 'Christ-centered' to some at first glance and thus are often neglected by so called 'Christ-centered' preachers. This study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews with five pastors in the Reformed Church in America. The review of literature and analysis of the five interviews focused on three key areas of motivations in preaching. A group of 15 assembled for a ten-week class that met for an hour each week to study scripture, conflict theory, and to create a member covenant for the Glenwood Church of Christ establishing the expectation of behavior during times of disagreement. This practicum equipped the members well in scripture, theory, and practice for handling congregational conflict well.
