The author of this paper argues that preaching can be a catalyst for moving a congregation from fear to joy. Preachers have the opportunity to proclaim the Word of God so that through the power of the Holy Spirit transformation occurs and faith is deepened. Research was compiled from various contexts of churches and ministries. The transmission of this information was in the form of a workshop to a specific enlisted group of church leaders to equip them with models of adult discipleship they can employ in their ministry context. Twelve church leaders participated in the seminar. The project director used the strategy development model. The project director began by researching risk management and strategy formation. Upon completion of the research phase, the project director selected a risk management team and developed a three-session teaching curriculum designed to educate the team on risk management and strategy development. The result was a functioning team that focused on developing a risk management strategy to minimize risk for the First Baptist Church of Live Oak. The project director utilized the ministry skill enhancement model to design this project. The author researched the current understandings and models of collaboration for the purpose of developing a model of collaborative sermon preparation. Based on this research the author developed a multilevel approach to collaboration that included both face-to-face and online collaboration. The effectiveness of that model of sermon collaboration was studied by an AB study of six sermons developed by two teams. Having few role models, these women may not fully claim their identity as preachers. How can Catholic women who preach be empowered to claim their identity and authority as preachers?  This study demonstrates how by both naming the obstacles presented by their tradition and uncovering potential sources of liberation and empowerment, Catholic women who preach may find encouragement to claim their identity and authority as preachers.
