The project involved preaching a series of expository sermons from selected narrative passages that address life crises. The messages emphasized biblical principles relevant to maintaining a kingdom focus during various life crises. The project director identified hermeneutical principles of preaching from narrative passages. The project director examined homiletical works and discovered common approaches to preaching narrative passages. The director developed and preached the sermons at First Baptist Church of Lyman in Gulfport, Mississippi. An expert evaluated the sermon manuscripts. The director recorded the sermon delivery on DVD. These new styles foster an 'entertainment culture,' thus producing Christians who have a limited knowledge of both scriptures, the salvation story, and the sacraments. This entertainment culture also nurtures superficial and passive responses to critical issues in the lives of members. The contention is that reclaiming the centrality of sacraments in worship will nurture the capacity of church members to respond more authentically and actively to issues in their lives and the social context. More specifically, it is suggested that both the preparation for and the practice of the sacraments deepens descipleship and creates a contextually relevant worship experience. He studied curriculum development in order to plan and lead the training sessions. The premise was that such personal conflicts can lead to emotional wounds, yet they are often met with silence and denial. A panel of experts evaluated the resource on a Likert agreement scale questionnaire. The two most prominent findings were that the resource teaches women to restore peaceful fellowship and reinforces the Christian love ethic. If preachers are to engage the message of scripture to postmodern people effectively, they will need to critically assess the mistakes made by the American pulpit in responding to the postmodern challenges and also evaluate the postmodern world from a biblical perspective. There were six pastors in the project. Goals were measured by a quantitative pre-assessment and a post-assessment. The pastors exposed their distortions of the truth, learned the structures of healing, and began the process of healing of deep wounds to empowered living.
