Zion Church on how they can work together in preserving the pastor's life so they will have many joyful days of ministering to the people within and outside the church. The author researched this matter through a combination of group meetings, questionnaires, and conversations with laity and clergypersons. The project ends with recommendations for Union Grove and future pastors on enhancing the pastor's health and the importance of the pastors accepting personal responsibility for maintaining their own healthy lifestyle. Although the project is focusing on the pastor and congregation of the Union Grove Church, the problem is extremely common throughout the body of Christ and can serve as a helpful tool to others."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127311858270208,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:41:54.732Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:52:42Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:09:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b88b51b3-a1ea-413a-af6b-962bd5207367","accessControl_ssim":["4a06ca8e-f76a-4f95-97d4-9ea58abb85d2"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Nonformal pastoral ministry training in the majority world: four case studies"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:52:42Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:27:12Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["107b6786-f6f0-4397-88db-e6989428a58e"],"hasLease_ssim":["d0c64790-8348-4248-8cd1-44f1af0d544d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Biblical Seminary and School of Missions"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert W Ferris"],"year_tesim":["2008"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John Morrison Balmer"],"keyword_tesim":["Theology, Contextual"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Biblical Seminary and School of Missions of Columbia International University"],"subject_tesim":["Strategy","Developing countries","Case studies","Missions","Religious education"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this research is to study the programs of four indigenous, nonformal pastoral ministry training centers in the Majority World in order to identify core values, key principles, and training strategies. The final recommendations to educators in Majority World ministry training programs are: (1) develop a strong indigenous infrastructure before launching the program, (2) avoid dependence on foreign funding and expatriate faculty, and (3) develop a healthy training model that plans for measured growth. The author's field research includes a leadership survey and a related case study for peer discussion groups on a focus group of twenty-five Black Christian female respondents who are leaders or emerging leaders. She presents a theological context of women walking in calling and potential as kings and priests unto God who practice and administer a biblical framework of social justice and fairness in their respective spheres of influence. She concludes that Black women have made great strides but there are many areas in life that continue to have only token expressions, if that, of Black women. The author conducted this project at Walden Correctional Institution in Columbia, South Carolina. Walden is a minimum security correctional institution. In undertaking this study the author seeks to understand the impact, effect and affect that recidivism makes in the lives of men who frequently go in-and-out of corrections. Also, he seeks to understand the impact, effect and affect that recidivism has on the inmates' family and community. This project proposes that a man who frequently goes in-and-out of corrections has experienced acute dysfunction and or woundedness through poor parental relationships, poor or no formal education, and poor or no relationship with God. The author uses an action research methodology whereby he is able to invite the inmates to share their autobiographical stories, reframe them with a view toward dramatically altering their lifestyles. It is the hope of the author that the inmates will have genuine and authentic learning experiences which will transform their lives, renew their minds and empower them by faith to get out of corrections and stay out. The project goals are to reduce the rate of recidivism by helping the recidivists realize transformation, restoration, renewal and reconciliation with God, self and others."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131185369317376,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:43:28.801Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:52:08Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:56:54Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"ad3b7a10-7acb-41e6-bd66-b5724a09d52a","accessControl_ssim":["218d3e71-e276-40a3-802c-c6ca86a77752"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preparing lay leaders to say what God has said"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:52:07Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:08:03Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e3164c0e-07da-4a82-bf62-18c162e2a18b"],"hasLease_ssim":["cabd7379-40f7-4a3f-9281-ed82c4db1573"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Haddon W Robinson"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Kevin M Flannery"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Bible--Study--Methodology","Christian education--Philosophy"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The author provides a training model that takes lay members of a local congregation through three seminars that will provide basic theory and practical training in biblical communication. Specifically the goal is to help participants increase their effectiveness in expository preaching and teaching. The three core areas of the seminars are: (1) Discover the idea - learn how to identify the 'big idea' of a biblical passage; (2) Develop the idea - learn how to logically develop the biblical idea for presentation to a target audience; (3) Deliver the idea - learn how to implement a few key steps to communicate the logically-developed biblical idea to a target audience. The process is designed for those who have limited training. The seminar method is a combination of small group class instruction, hands-on exercises to master the key concepts, and student-facilitator interaction."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132033243676672,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:56:57.397Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:52:07Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:50:32Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"009c039a-8667-47f6-8ea9-c1d9b55cfce4","accessControl_ssim":["de2cfbb9-0555-48ed-84d0-b80c99be3fac"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Recovering a transformative perspective on theological education: portraits in the history of education"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:52:07Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:08:11Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d04ca686-a9a9-4eed-90df-0388345bd6f6"],"hasLease_ssim":["d2f7d16c-44b4-40fd-9eb2-82662cea0a43"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John E Johnson"],"year_tesim":["2008"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Steven Thomas Elich"],"publisher_tesim":["Western Seminary (Portland, OR)"],"subject_tesim":["Religious education--Study and teaching"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Theological education must be transformative in both content and approach. The author maintains that through united prayer, God offers the opportunity to achieve progress which will not occur through any other means. After examining biblical precedents for praying together in the Old and New Testaments, including the life of Jesus and the practice of the early church, this work assesses the challenge of maintaining a practical balance between prayer and action in the life of the church and individual believers. Using a number of examples and anecdotes from the history of the church, the author offers several concepts for implementing united prayer in the local church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131618143895552,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:50:21.527Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13089,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
