Research was conducted with members of a liberal Disciples of Christ congregation in Boulder, Colorado. Volunteers received spiritual genogram interviews designed to stimulate reflectivity about ego, spiritual and relationship needs. A subgroup also participated in twelve hours of support group work. Theories of object relations, transpersonal psychology and the theological framework of Paul Tillich were applied. The data provide a rich look at the characteristics of spirituality in a liberal environment. The analysis supports the thesis that spiritual growth and development are inextricably interwoven."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["0f3d74d9-8a9b-4580-a458-c2d78a76b977"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715943255900160,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:54:31.910Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:41:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:55:13Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4a6a9d3b-f676-4263-9eee-ca165a5fea47","accessControl_ssim":["5b84d66e-04f1-42e0-8c07-073a997fc2ba"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Shifting sands: a theology of religious pluralism"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:41:33Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:18:46Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["fb49ab27-8608-48c1-999f-24984c6613e9"],"hasLease_ssim":["2e8696c4-595f-4c1f-abd2-124dc700329c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["George W Stroup"],"year_tesim":["2006"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Allan M Gathercoal"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Mission statements","Religious pluralism","Faith development"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["'How can an individual be a pluralist while continuing to affirm his/her commitment to their faith, and continuing to proclaim the truth of their faith with ardor?'
