The project report addresses causes of misunderstandings between churches and pastors toward academia in the historic, multi-ethnic, socio-economic, and cultural context of Moldova.  The project involved participation by a select group of Russian-speaking students at CTE in seminars where these problems were identified and analyzed. The author planned for other young adults, peer ministers, to be the instruments through which those outlets were created.  The peer ministers received training and created programming for their peers, but the young adults and others at New Jerusalem did not feel that any programs were offered. Government policies in some states in northern Nigeria are tilted to favor Muslims. The enforcement of the sharia legal system in twelve northern states in Nigeria has marginalized the Christians and made the mission and evangelism of the Church difficult. The innovation by the Wusasa Diocese to reach out using techniques like personal evangelism, discipleship, dialogue, education and poverty alleviation programmes are yielding results. Muslims are coming to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour. Dialogue has helped to minimize violence and has promoted mutual understanding between Christians and Muslims. The purpose of this study was to examine how elders and pastoral search committees in Presbyterian Church in America congregations approached the pastoral transition process when their previous pastor served for ten or more years. Qualitative case studied were utilized to investigate the transition process. The hypothesis was that through preaching people can become empowered to participate in social change.  A focus group was formed within the congregation using a pretest and a posttest to test the validity of the hypothesis.  The results of the model revealed that preaching did empower people to become involved in social ministry. It is difficult enough for a local church pastor to create emotional connections in preaching. Those connections become more difficult if the preacher does not know the congregation, but is a judicatory official or other outsider related to the congregation through ecclesiastical structure.  Narrative sermonic design provides an effective method for making emotional connections.
