However, there is the possibility that, over time, an established church may become more influenced by other primary factors other than the gospel. Consequently, these churches will find themselves needing to rediscover the 'main thing' of the gospel as its primary, driving influence. Therefore, the purpose of this study was to explore the visionary process of developing a distinctively gospel-driven ministry in the established local church, with a focus on my present call to Westminster Presbyterian Church in Greenwood, Mississippi. The following research questions guided this study: 1. What role will leadership play in the development of a gospel-driven ministry. 2. What role will theology play in the development of a gospel-driven ministry. 3. This study was a qualitative examination of the process by which deacons and elders developed into effective spiritual shepherds in their local churches. The study utilized focus groups comprised of four to five men each. The author gleaned the following three conclusions: 1. The calling to spiritual shepherding came soon after conversion. 2. The character necessary to spiritual shepherding formed through the influence of God-appointed individuals. 3. It provides biblical theological reflection, guidelines, and ideas for the use of visual display art. The following research questions guide this study: 1. what led to the present or past use of visual display art? 2. what has been the result of using display art in congregational life and ministry? 3. what, if any, efforts are being made to change the role of visual display art in congregational life and ministry? This research is a qualitative examination of visual display art and its role in the past, present, and plans for the future of Reformed and Presbyterian congregations. This study uses information gathered from two focus groups and seventeen interviews to gain insight into congregations from seven different denominations, all with roots in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition. Among the lesson learned from this study and research, the following insights form the central findings: 1. Biblical and theological reflection does not support a complete separation from involvement in or use of visual arts in the individual, family, or corporate lives of Christians. 2. The presence of visual display art in the buildings and programs of churches with a Reformed and Presbyterian heritage currently has limited scope; moreover, there is little knowledge among most members as to how these visual pieces came into use. 3. The evaluation of the use of visuals in the life of a particular congregation is informal and sketchy at best. 3. Air Force","Military chaplains"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This study evaluates the pluralistic multi-denominational impact on Christian chaplains within the United States Air Force Chaplaincy (Glossary of Military Terms Appendix E).  In researching the multi-denominational impact, which determines the influence that each denomination represented in the military has on leadership, position placement and stability within the Chaplaincy, it was discovered that the impact of Christian chaplains had various pros and cons that were not considered in the onset of this project.  The initial research methodology, proactive, consisted of questionnaires and telephonic interviews.  Further research revealed the need to have verbatim input from troops and feedback from lay personnel in the deployed field.  This proved invaluable in assessing multi-denominational impact among military Christians. The qualitative study of six United Methodist churches affected by the divorce of their pastors, this study addresses the minimally researched phenomenon of how clergy divorce affects a local church and the factors that influence a local church in its recovery. The author discovered that a local churches recovery is influenced by various relationships that exist between the pastor and the local church.
