In seeking an entire congregational response to one particular devotional, I hope to develop patterns and habits of daily devotions and therefore, motivate more of the congregation to seek spiritual nurture through daily devotions once the seasons outlined in this devotion are completed.  This devotion is a thematic, word study devotional.  We explore one topic or theme for each week examining the many ways a particular word or word group is used in the Old and New Testaments. It is written from the perspective that this integration was seen by Murray as consistent with the divine pattern, and that it is the key to understanding the essence of the man and his ministry. The work begins with a brief biographical sketch of Murray's life and career, followed by a survey of the biblical-theological foundation on which his commitment to keeping the two truths of revival and missions together was built. The project then explores Murray's understanding of the church's unhealthy condition, along with his description of what was necessary for her to be restored to health. A significant part of their jobs is to preach in churches on a regular basis both for deputation purposes and for teaching and equipping believers.  A concern raised by some missionaries is that they are not fully prepared for this role.  This program is one step toward trying to address those concerns.  The majority of the work was spent in researching and writing a commentary on Romans 9-11.  This portion of Scripture for a missionary to the Jews is crucial in understanding both God's plan for Israel and the importance and priority of Jewish evangelism.  It also is a place where the Apostle Paul shares his heart, regarding his Jewish brethren, to his readers.  The project concludes by detailing a six day preaching seminar for missionaries to Chosen People Ministries. TRAINING LAY PERSONS is designed to provide that preparation.  The manual takes into account the prevailing theory of how adults learn.  Adults learn better through interactive dialogue rather than through lecture.  This course guides the students to learn by involving them in a series of questions and answers.  A significant portion of the manual focuses on equipping the students to be able to correctly understand the Bible by learning the observation, interpretation, and application model of Bible study.  Then they will learn how to determine the main idea of a passage of Scripture. The primary assessment tool is the genogram.  The case study demonstrates a family moving from crisis to functional with the assistance of various agencies.
