The training of the 14 pastors took place in Nairobi, Kenya, in September 2002. The group had one year to put the principles learnt into practice. The class met twice after the one-year period to reevaluate the ten principles they had previously learnt. The project proved that it was possible to plant churches using the ten leadership principles gathered from Paul's speech at Miletus. 5 new churches were planted and the other 9 that had existed before this project began grew by 33% to 185%. The prayer life of the pastors, the giving in the churches and the small groups ministries improved."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Asbury Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["6c1e11e8-b66e-47b6-8fe9-6c546c20935c"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133905665916928,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:26:43.078Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:42:38Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:38:16Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"7463cb4e-ab0b-4656-a492-5d06a65acbda","accessControl_ssim":["ad95caba-1c92-4488-b4cc-04ddd059e078"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["You're welcome! extending hospitality to first-time guests"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:42:37Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:32:45Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["13da37ad-0779-4b8e-975a-5802e8f63879"],"hasLease_ssim":["69ebd1cc-57c3-400d-b0ee-67333c0fde9a"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Edith M Humphrey"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Larry L Hicks"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Hospitality--Religious aspects--Christianity","Church work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["My project was to train our regular Sunday participants to become more gracious hosts for first-time guests at the worship service. It takes a case study on an urban Chinese congregation in New York state with designed teaching material (six sessions) to be tested and evaluated as the method of research. It concludes that Martin Luther's teaching on prayer is intertwined with his justification by faith and the Theology of the Cross. Those who pray receive God's grace. The participants are usually advised to hear a tape a week prior to the meeting, then to share what they have received from God in His grace as changes in attitudes and mindset that were made through the power of the Holy Spirit when they spent time waiting upon God's act with a joyful heart and obedient mind."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799714740841218048,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:35:25.197Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:42:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:52:46Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"421ca45d-c5a5-440b-bcf4-8c62af6d4bc1","accessControl_ssim":["06c81667-e9dd-497d-a994-17f2554e8bab"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Leading an international church to discover its shared core values to be used as unifying elements in decision making"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T09:42:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:02:54Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["dc9830b8-8761-4c2e-8ff4-c936fb9eb441"],"hasLease_ssim":["9f362a9b-a03b-4a74-b11f-08b2824d8aae"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Stephen Booth"],"year_tesim":["2004"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Thomas W Blackaby"],"keyword_tesim":["Congregations--Internal conflict"],"publisher_tesim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project is to lead an international church to discover their shared biblical core values for use in decision making.
