This research uses a focus group interview method to record individual conversion narratives. The literature review focuses on the mission of the church, evangelism, conversion, the Holy Spirit's role in conversion, and evidences of conversion. The findings are threefold. First, conversion narratives at Vineyard Church of Columbus do not reflect traditional evangelical conversion categories. Second, the narratives did reflect a personal encounter with Jesus Christ. The project began with a questionnaire concerning spiritual gifts and one's purpose in the church. Next, a three part sermon series on spiritual gifts was used to educate and inspire members to participate in the seminar. During the seminar, students took inventories to discover their spiritual gifts, passions, personality, and temperament types and completed a ministry resume form. The author examines the New Testament terms 'elder,' 'overseer,' and 'pastor,' asking how associate pastors fit into the mix.  He then examines Scriptural examples of men who held positions akin to 'associate' status, who were later elevated to senior leadership ranks -- Joshua, Elisha, the disciples, and Timothy. Field research consisted of interviewing six senior pastors who formerly were associate pastors.  From these interviews the author compiled a list of activities to prepare himself for the transition from an associate to a senior pastorate, and then reported on the fulfillment of the activities. The research methodology is as follows.  First of all the literary analysis of narrative forms will be explained.  Since the Book of Ruth is of the story type, exegesis of this book through the narrative form seems to be a very good method used.  Then, the elements of narrative are used in interpreting the Book of Ruth.  Finally, we will explain how to apply the life stories of the main characters as told in the analyzed narrative of the Book of Ruth to the situations people confront today. The survey was completed by 113 respondents age fourteen or older at New Hope Community Church of the Nazarene in Tempe, Arizona. I want to share salvation of Jesus to those who live in the northwest of China.  The reasons of my focus on the northwest of China are as follows.  First of all, the northwest is the poorest area in China.  Secondly, the people's lives of this area are in a spiritual meaninglessness and seem to be much influenced by Islam.  I expect that Christians can build a Bible training center there as soon as possible.  Hopefully, hundreds, even thousands, of trainees may be molded as missionaries from this center and they can share Jesus' love and grace to others.  This thesis is divided into five chapters. Chapter one is the introduction.  Chapter two emphasizes the strategy of Jesus Christ's ministry in the area of Palestine. Chapter three introduces the northwest region of China including descriptions of geography, resources, populations, and religious condition.  Chapter four presents the evangelism strategy for the northwest area of China.
