The project will seek to develop awareness for pastors in order that they can minister cross-culturally in a more effective way.   Developing this strategy will involve all the Fellowship Directors who represent the ethnic groups and geographical regions in the Metropolitan New York Baptist Association, and selected pastors of the local churches in the same association.  Each individual, along with the project leader, will have specific responsibilities to accomplish in a five phase plan.  Phase one will establish the priorities of the plan.  Phase two will consist of presenting the strategy for implementation in the local churches. Phase three will consist of presenting the strategy for implementation in the local churches.  Phase four will involve reporting the ministry experience according to the given principles (strategy).  Phase five will involve reporting the ministry experience according to the association.  The process will be reviewed in order to enhance the ministry in the association for the present stage of ministry and for the years to come in dealing with cross-cultural ministry in the Metropolitan New York Baptist Association.   The project was successfully completed. Right and wrong have largely been reduced to personal opinions even in those who regularly attend church. One pastor documented through national surveys, polls, studies, and articles how right and wrong in contemporary culture have become divorced from the Ten Commandments. Conducting research at a congregational level and among other community Christian churches, resulted in the finding that the Ten Commandments are seen as God's rules for right and wrong but not in a personal sense for one's daily life as a Christian. Many regular church goers are operating from the conviction - I know it is wrong according to God, but God forgives me in Christ, so I'll do it anyway! The pastor undertook a seven Sunday Bible study and preaching series focusing on the Ten Commandments using the lessons of the day. During the seven-week series the average of people in church increased 6% over the previous year average. The project used a strategic planning committee consisting of a cross sample of the congregation of Grace Bible Church and the formation of a strategic plan to discover the impact. The strategic plan outlined in Aubrey Malphur's book Advanced strategic planning was the tool used to develop and conduct the strategic plan. A questionnaire was used to evaluate the perception of the participants concerning the impact of the strategic planning process on themselves. The evaluation of the impact was determined by the change in responses on the questionnaire. The project began with a review of the current literature concerned with developing a strategic plan for a church and the impact this plan can have on the participants and the church as a whole. The project continued by conducting a strategic plan for the church and collecting the data using the questionnaire. The project concluded that the strategic planning process had a positive impact on those who participated in the planning. The Bible is filled with charges and directions for a life full of meaning.  Matthew 28:19-20 gives us a precise command, 'Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.'  The charge of making disciples is clear and direct.  The question comes about when determining how best to make disciples.  Jesus used modeling and mentoring.  The established example of Jesus mentoring is the one that will be discussed and followed.     There is a great need in youth ministries for students to see how other students who are committed followers of Jesus Christ live their lives.  The project leader believes a teenage student better relates to another teenage student than to an adult.  A student mentor can grow personally by being trained to mentor, as well as become prepared to minister to their mentoree. This project will develop a curriculum for teenage leaders to lead younger students to understand how they can have a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.  The project leader will work with the mentor development team to develop six sessions that will be used by student mentors to lead a younger teenage mentoree.  The mentor will spend one on one time with a student who is two or more years younger than the mentor.  The mentoree will be trained to understand how to have a closer relationship with Jesus, as well as be encouraged to become a mentor to a younger student.
