This process is based on the manual written by Charles Ridley, entitled How to select church planters: a self-study manual for recruiting, screening, interviewing and evaluating qualified church planters. Research in this project focused primarily on : (1) a careful review of the written assessment reports of more than 260 candidates; (2) administration of a written survey that was completed by the candidates which focused on the progress of their church plants; (3) a follow-up telephone survey and (4) a comparison of the results of the assessed candidates with a control group of forty planters who were not assessed but attempted to plant anyway. The research showed that NAMB's assessment process was an accurate predictor of church planting behaviors, as measured by thee outcomes: average worship attendance, average baptisms from conversions, and progress made toward constitution."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["55f1694e-f3f1-43ea-8ca9-da9a2899defe"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129216845086720,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:12:11.470Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:38:30Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:36:28Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5da3837b-cdfd-4c73-8872-ed4d54aa1752","accessControl_ssim":["8bb9cc9c-aaca-4294-a717-9daca2d48ee8"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Mentoring: the critical link in clergy development: effective practices of identifying, mentoring and elevating clergy apprentices into transformational leadership"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:38:29Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:53:03Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["6436cad3-7b82-4e0b-846f-22ce87c98b66"],"hasLease_ssim":["61b6416c-df89-4439-b549-819c74ab99ef"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Ashland Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Leroy Soloman","Richard Parrott"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Cecelia E Greene-Barr"],"publisher_tesim":["Ashland Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Mentoring in church work","Clergy--Training of"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project describes a vision of ministry dedicated to the intentional and methodical development of clergy. A reading of the Old Testament Book of Esther advances a prospective shape for curriculum design. Esther's actions and speeches are traced as one entry into a story world, proposing a means for students of this ministry context to gain appreciable hermeneutical skills via sensitivity to the genre's general components. This reading informs a study method offering students direct engagement with a text and appreciation for the art of literary crafting."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128955104788480,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:08:01.855Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:38:19Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:09:35Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"abd32873-7571-46c5-bf80-1c13be95563e","accessControl_ssim":["3e871ec6-5d1c-4361-863a-ef8a14504fbd"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["When two or three gather in my name: the new science, an ancient practice, and the (re)discovery of missional imagination and practice within a congregation plunged into conflict and chaos"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:38:19Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:05:36Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["e247cbc2-c46a-47ab-a2bc-6c6a22c2387e"],"hasLease_ssim":["e15bfc17-17e8-495b-9cc8-0e328734e30d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Darrell L Guder"],"year_tesim":["2003"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Chris William Erdman"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Mission of the church","Missions--Theory"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Modern churches reduced ordinary disciples to passive receivers of the will of God as discerned by clergy who often functioned like corporate CEOs.
