Chapter 1 gives an introduction to the project, including the project goals, background, limitations of the project, and research methodology. Chapter 2 provides the biblical theological foundation of the project. Ten academic disciplines are examined to see if a theological foundation can be established for these disciples from a biblical Christian perspective. Chapter 2 also establishes the need for a biblical Christian worldview and demonstrates how that worldview relates to methods of sharing the gospel. Chapter 3 provides the rationale for the methodology of the project. The goals of the project were achieved through the teaching of a Bible class at Pleasant Grove Christian Academy in Fountain Inn, South Carolina. Chapter 3 also defines the parameters of the project and defines the major terms to be used. Chapter 4 is an overview of how the project proceeded. It provides a complete description of the methodology and the reasons certain methods were used to achieve the goals of the project. Chapter 5 provides the results of the project and an evaluation of whether the goals of the project were reached. The goal of the project was to equip lay leaders with practical resources to enable them to serve as Bible study leaders.  The project participants were trained in the use of various Bible study materials to use with small groups.  Prayer walks were a vital part of the strategy project participants used in preparing the neighborhood to be receptive to a Bible study.  The results differed from what was expected; only three small groups were started. The necessity for sufficient preparation of public prayer as well as understanding the audience will be explained.  While benefits to the corporate membership can be derived through effective public prayers, the prayer leader, himself, will be a special beneficiary. After a model of 'servant leader supervision' was constructed, pastors were invited to a two-phase workshop.     The first phase introduced the model, the skills necessary to implementing it, and culminated in the pastors writing their own supervision plans.  The workshop's second phase (a month later) focused on their implementation efforts. In a two-phase process, the project director equipped a small group of church members, who then discipled another individual. Theologically, the basis of the project stems from Jesus' training of His disciples, with additional references to Paul's training of disciples like Timothy.  The project director worked to develop a disciple-making team in a local church historically weak in informed, intentional disciple making.  As a result of the project, the participants formed a team to plan and implement a discipleship strategy for the church. Chapter 1 examines demographics of the church and community establishing the rationale of this strategy, suggesting that church planting methods may be effective for growing existing churches. Chapter 2 studies the biblical mandate for discipleship and evangelistic church growth, from biblical theology, commentaries, and the theological foundations of the Church Growth Movement. Chapter 3 considers Church Growth literature relating to renewed growth of established churches and church planting models. Chapter 4 documents the project implementation and evaluation. The training has three objectives for the project participants: (1) increase knowledge of the origin, culture, character, theology and religious practices of the target group; (2) develop skill in witnessing; and (3) persevere in witnessing. The project engaged an eight phase process which included the following study: (1) theology of witnessing; (2) knowledge of basic history, culture, and theology and religious practices related to witnessing; (3) presentation of witnessing module; (4) and how to persevere in witnessing.  Testing instruments were also developed to test all goals and objectives. Blanchard into the context of ministry.  Eight ministers volunteered to receive training and implement the training into their ministries.  Each minister enlisted team members from their ministry setting in order to accomplish a specific task.  The ministers and team members used assessment instruments to track changes in leadership behavior.  The project's goal was to answer the question; 'Is Situational Leadership valuable and useful in the context of ministry?'     This project was effective and provided a tool for ministerial leadership. Since human life is a precious gift of God and suicide is an irrational act, suicide prevention is a life-saving ministry.
