I used the explanatory method and the questionnaires in this project. In chapter one, I introduced the Emmaus Korean UMC: demographic data, programs, ministry, mission, and organization. In the second chapter, I showed the biblical concepts of discipleship in the Old and New Testaments. In the third chapter, I dealt with the contemporary practices of discipleship training. In the fourth chapter, I made a research through using the survey method with questionnaires. In the fifth chapter, the conclusion is made. All in all, I emphasized that the discipleship training has been tremendously influencing the growth of Emmaus Korean UMC, spiritually and quantitatively. The discipleship training is not only a small group ministry, but also an individual spiritual growth of the congregation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791126591213928448,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:30:27.473Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:12:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:46:31Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d48216ad-e23b-4a08-9319-fe2c21e54573","accessControl_ssim":["ea39ee33-6cf7-4be0-99ab-2897372347d2"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Making all things new: worshipping and learning for a new generation"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:12:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:12:32Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4bb9695b-7855-4e30-a7b1-6bc7f3cfe871"],"hasLease_ssim":["d7da21c0-39f0-473d-9493-77b1db818abe"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John Burgess"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Judith H Weger"],"publisher_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Rural churches","Evangelistic work","Church work with youth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["As churches face the need to make changes in their programs to revitalize their ministry, decisions must be made as to ways to reach the unchurched in their communities. The congregation at First Baptist is composed mainly of retired people who have moved to the Broaddus area due to its proximity to Lake Sam Rayburn. The people of First Baptist appear uncertain of their calling and specific ministry for the community. It is the aim of this project to offer a focus and an opportunity for the church members to realize their potential as servants and to discover their unique calling from God. The church will then transmit that calling into a ministry suited for the community. Sociological differences, varying stages of faith development, and possible misunderstanding give insight on the gap between pastor and congregants. The author suggests the development of a mediation team to mitigate the stressors causing pastor/parishioner problems to polarize."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799721709100597248,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:26:10.648Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:11:37Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:16:56Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f558dada-07ae-406f-b0bb-3f489022edea","accessControl_ssim":["491bb8b8-d069-458a-8c9c-0ae636ed3760"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["From fruitlessness to fulfillment: guiding believers to walk in the spirit"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:11:36Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T05:08:24Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["8b8cb9e7-e23e-4e33-a2ae-8a77b91deee5"],"hasLease_ssim":["a04e661d-1c17-4a93-9675-ecb13165e154"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Frankie Rainey"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Richard L Allen"],"publisher_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Spiritual formation","Gifts, Spiritual"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Some Southern Baptist leaders are alarmed at the number of professing believers who seem to completely drop out of the Christian life. This is especially perplexing in light of the belief that when a person is born again, he or she receives the Holy Spirit and is thereby equipped and capable of fruitful Christian life. Southern Baptists need not concede their biblical doctrine in order to explain and overcome this phenomenon. While it is true that a person receives the Holy Spirit at the moment of conversion, some Southern Baptists fail to teach their converts how to recognize his work and how to relate to him as a person. Hence, he is grieved, his work is quenched, and life in Christ become stagnant and unfruitful. This project will delve into the fruitlessness of inactive Christians and demonstrate how the major Christian disciplines are an outgrowth of the Holy Spirit's work in a believer's life. Rather than preaching ritual, it will stress the relationship of the believer with God and thereby move them from fruitlessness to fulfilment by guiding them to walk in the Spirit."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133293284950016,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:16:59.066Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:11:36Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:30:28Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"dd66d10c-a7f2-48f5-9004-04a3f9ead007","accessControl_ssim":["48c60c38-86e5-4c32-b755-d407c3cb180c"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["To educate well is to do God's work: using the teaching portfolio to integrate spiritual and affective values into a university classroom"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T07:11:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:28:03Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["2fa7399e-e267-48f0-a6fa-9218ce571ab6"],"hasLease_ssim":["14ddc4b4-0ca2-4394-89b6-4683fadd70d5"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2002"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. There were twelve couples in attendance, four already married between 6 months and thirty years and eight unmarried couples. The couples already married enjoyed sharing and caught some of the enthusiasm from the couples preparing for marriage, while the unmarried couples enjoyed the mix as well. The author believes that the marriage rite best expresses the theology of marriage in the Orthodox Church, and makes a very good 'text book' for marriage preparation. During the retreat, we began with an introduction offering an Orthodox vision of marriage, followed by a line by line study of the rite. Communication skills were also taught, using the theology expressed in the rite. The couples agreed that the marriage rite offered a good context for marriage preparation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31bd5819-b5a3-4928-96d5-b581f38b637b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799720704793378816,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T03:10:12.866Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13089,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
