They have limited Southern Baptist experience.  This project is designed to help these church members cooperate as Southern Baptists. Experimental and control groups were tested on knowledge, attitudes and involvement in Southern Baptist polity and the Southern Baptist cooperative program.  The experimental group was trained in six two-hour sessions in these areas. Both groups were tested at the conclusion of the sessions. Questionnaires to the community, church and other similar Southern Baptist churches were used to provide data. Information drawn from the results of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator also aided in the development of the plan.  The concept of 'church types' provided help in determining goals for the congregations. Individuals discovered the unique needs of their congregation through guided lectures and brainstorming sessions utilizing historical, personal and biblical resources.  They then defined biblical understandings of New Testament church growth.  From this they developed strategies for growth that addressed their specific needs, and embraced these biblical insights.  The growth process, thus defined, involved and equipped participants for service in their respective congregations. It explores pastors' experiences with and their denial of loneliness.  The study explores both the necessity and the possibility of embracing loneliness within pastoral ministry.  The disclosive sample of five married, parish-based Lutheran clergy, basically through interviews and a nine-month long group seminar, expresses and engages experiences of loneliness in pastoral ministry.  It is discovered that loneliness is a real experience in pastoral ministry, often experienced and perceived in negative terms. The Taylor-Johnson Temperament Analysis Test is the primary testing instrument.  Significant change occurred in three areas: attitudes, individual profiles, and selected temperament traits. The second learning event describes how the methodology and theory of the initial training sessions was carried out in a training and renewal program. The methods used were sociologically framed and praxis based. They were informed by qualitative research (grounded theory) and colored by the author's own poetic, intuitive learning.
