The hermeneutic was pastoral and involved two foci: the theological-theoretical and the experiential-phenomenological. The former dealt with paul tillich's being and nonbeing as it relates to anxiety. This particular method of study focused on the nature of pastoral ministry via living human documents (persons). It is akin to what is called a phenomenological hermeneutic. The data partially fulfilled the expectations of the hypothesis. Two sermons were preached in each category in worship services in Liberia, West Africa, where the author taught Bible and preaching courses. The use of the fourth category is discouraged. It reviews why and how amalgamation took place, and surfaces the need for an appraisal in response to new insights and perspectives. In rural realignment, 'small is beautiful' and attitudinal and spiritual dimensions play an important part. The report relates the work of the candidate with his Ministry Base Group and with people who experienced amalgamation: those whose churches were closed, those who were in the host churches, the ministers of closed churches, and the people who prevented their churches from closing. Amalgamation was, for the most part, a negtive experience with a legacy of unresolved problems. The resolution of these problems offers the basis for a challenge in ministry in the 1980's."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129488426270720,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:16:30.470Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:16:49Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:54:48Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"54a6803e-d8ae-4dbd-8e90-862c4c64aa51","accessControl_ssim":["ee2837c2-2922-4a14-b5a4-0147c399397d"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Working as a team: a style of management for the First United Methodist Church of Wichita, Kansas"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T21:16:48Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:36:36Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0452a3aa-0bff-4454-a91d-7afbe82b2476"],"hasLease_ssim":["113212e0-e75b-46bd-88b1-1cde6c33244d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["C William Bryan"],"year_tesim":["1981"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Jerold Wesley Vogt"],"publisher_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["United Methodist Church--Clergy","Interpersonal relations","Church group work","Church management","First United Methodist Church (Wichita, Kan)","Leadership--Religious aspects"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project centered on factors supporting a multi-staff ministry. The author and support group developed a profile of behavior changes desired from devotions and designed and tested devotional models to effect the changes.
