Drawing on these four studies she then concludes that the church will need a new kind of worker to share the gospel with the new generation of people in the 21st Century. Chapter two of the research project explored and established a biblical and theological basis for personal evangelism. Chapter three presents an investigation of the mentoring process and its uses in three extra-biblical settings (e.g. the relationship of Socrates and Plato).  Research into mentoring relationships in the medical nursing and education professions provided examples for using mentoring relationships in a church's evangelism ministries.  Chapter four described the twelve week process of equipping a selected group of members of First Baptist Church to initiate a mentoring relationship with specific emphasis on personal evangelism. Servant leadership was presented as the biblical way to be a leader. The project consisted of a one-day retreat and six monthly workshops. The retreat and workshops were interactive and focused on the personal growth of the participants. Chapter two shows the promise of expository preaching to move people to witness by stating a biblical, theological and historical basis for preaching.  Chapter three argues that the life of the preacher should match the message being given.  Attention is given to the preparation of the preacher.  Chapter four describes what happened during a comprehensive sequence of ministry actions.  Chapter five gives the results of the project's ministry actions. Chapter one provides an introduction and overview of the entire project.  Chapter two lays a biblical and theological foundation for an effective discipleship process in the local church.  Chapter three investigates the psychological and social dimensions of human need.  Chapter four delineates the relevant factors necessary for the implementation of the ministry project.  Chapter five provides a complete evaluation.  The author concluded that the discipleship model training was effective in providing lay people with some basic skills necessary to provide interpersonal ministry to hurting people.  Seventeen people took the discipleship model training; twelve of the participants indicated a willingness to become involved in a people-helping ministry initiated by their church.
