The approach was an enhancement of Holland's and Henriot's 'pastoral circle.' The structure of the approach is informed by cases of abusive children.  Two case studies are offered with reflection on the approach developed and abusive children themselves.  Results showed the approach to be positive especially in combining input from theology and social sciences.  The children were noted to be unrealistic in their assessment of their relationships with other family members. This study shows that leadership training can be very effective, especially in a campus ministry setting, by nurturing and training the many intellectual young adults available.  It endeavors to utilize leadership training for class meeting leaders as a vehicle for developing lay leadership. They were 70 to 80 years old and were nuns for 50+ years.  Three pastoral strategies were developed from the data.  Grounded theory principles were utilized in data analysis. The study examined combat experiences, vocational choices, depth relationships, and current ministry settings.  Results showed strong relationship between encounters with death or shattering of values and decisions to enter ministry. Results showed strong relational stability and hearing of posttraumatic stress disorder. Results indicate failure of seminaries to assist incoming students in task of integrating combat experience and religious vocation. As the spiritual direction coincides with individualism, there exists the potential for a profound conversion experience.  The method of research was the use of case study material from four spiritual directees.  There was a convergence of material from interpersonal relationships, relationship with God, and Jungian insights into the interior life.
