Methodology entailed determination of project thrust and project associates; preparation and study of appropriate humorous stories; and the sharing of these stories as a goal-oriented process. The results of a survey and evaluations revealed the religious needs and indicated an interest in continuing P.A.M. These workshops were designed to foster continuing education and personal growth relating to grief and anger issues faced in the hospital context.  Preworkshop and postworkshop questionnaires were used to gather information.  The preworkshop questionnaires showed an adequate understanding of both anger and grief. A survey was devised whereby information was gathered from the parish concerning what strengthens or weakens faith.  The survey responses were analyzed and collated.  Significant areas were identified and a ten-week project was devised around the most pertinent aspects of faith building.  The project was named 'Soaring To New Heights.' Pastoral care and preaching are brought together when the preacher who proclaims 'God is for us,' offers a vision that leads to growth in grace.  Such preaching becomes a form of pastoral care for the people of God. Through a program based upon the gestalt cycle of experience and conducted in a university context, alienated Catholics were encouraged to redefine their religious symbols.
