The project director also reviewed Baptist history, some selected doctrines, characteristics of Baptists, and the inerrancy controversy in the Southern Baptist Convention.  Each of these areas was examined in light of its impact on mission work.  The thesis of the project was that a designed program of missions education would lead members to an increased awareness of and appreciation for denominational missions. He made research notations and collated the material for use in the model project.  A discipler workshop and a twelve-week training program was implemented among the project participants. Adults who so met to discuss past, present, and prospective experiences of religious learning became aware of the connection between their own reception of the sacraments and that anticipated by their children.  The sacraments of eucharist and reconciliation help advance adults to maturity in faith. As models for their children, adults employ formational and informational methods of catechesis.
