Participants' responses to various questions and exercises are analyzed as to their meaning in regard to faith. This project report provides a method for examining the relationship between human experience and faith and a basis for further study of the issue."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7d2ba5b6-aeec-459a-aaec-e1eed75d32f0"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134686347526144,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:39:07.594Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:12:35Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:36:05Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a28cf44d-587d-434f-89fa-be49b01a87d6","accessControl_ssim":["57b6e3f9-3079-4381-a406-44049a0e01ba"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Congregation and eschatology: an exploration of the eschatological consciousness of the Presbyterian Church, Farmington, Missouri"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T00:12:35Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:52:04Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["62507d5b-22bc-4745-adbb-68483001beb7"],"hasLease_ssim":["2117a5f7-4244-4a11-8889-10c6daaee64f"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["John S McClure"],"year_tesim":["1989"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Geary N Scott"],"keyword_tesim":["Theology, Reformed"],"publisher_tesim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Presbyterian Church","Lord's Supper","Eschatology","Presbyterian Church--Hymns","Liturgics"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project explores a Presbyterian congregation's eschatological consciousness, looks at eschatology from a Reformed perspective, analyzes the eschatological images put forth by the hymns in The Hymnbook and in the liturgies of The Worshipbook, articulates the author's eschatology, and explores ways the eschatological side of the gospel can be communicated in a Presbyterian congregation. The congregation of 175 was analyzed by interviews with 68 of its members. These interviews allowed a glimpse of the variety of eschatological symbols and images prevalent in a Presbyterian congregation. A brief liturgy of support for grieving families was also developed. Communication style was operationalized from literature on media (primary orality, print, electronic), hemispheric lateralization (left-brain), and the Myers-Briggs thinking/feeling temperaments. Three communication styles were operationalized: discursive, presencursive, and presentational. Recent works on preaching were related to the styles. The hypothesis: when the communication style of a preaching event resonates with that of the listener, a higher listener satisfaction is reported. Three sermons were preached using the three communication styles, listener satisfaction ratings were secured, and a statistical analysis of style was computed. The conclusion: communication style preference and resonance do not influence listener satisfaction. An alternative finding is that all strata report highest listener satisfaction for the presentational style, and second highest for the presencursive style."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Garrett-Evangelical Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["fc8e637d-6b92-421f-936e-4844dc981265"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134884294557696,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:42:16.371Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":13089,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
